ISLAMABAD: Leaders of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) stated that “Sharif family is appearing before the court in spite of false allegations leveled against them.”
Talking to media outside an accountability court on Thursday, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Nawaz Sharif sought exemption from court due to wife’s illness.
Marriyum asserted that “Maryam Nawaz’s mother is ill but she has appeared before the court following the directions of her father as Nawaz Sharif himself respects legal institutions,” she said.
She went on to say that PML-N and Sharif Family has always respected courts despite persisting legal loopholes in the system.
Marriyum insisted to reject such perception that Sharif family is running away from the judiciary.
Maryam Nawaz said that sentence was given before trial. She said that Nawaz Sharif will arrive in Pakistan in coming week. She also appealed the nation to pray for fast recovery of her mother Kulsoom Nawaz, who has recently won NA-120 by-poll.
While talking about Nawaz Sharif and his children accountability, State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry said that “there is neither appeal nor arguments”.
He said that in line with law no one can be indicted on the interim reference.
Federal Minister Danyal Aziz said that Jehangir Tareen and Imran Khan have accepted their crime in writing adding “they both are absconders”.
It is worth mentioning here that the accountability court on Thursday rejected ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s petition to stop his indictment as well as the trial against him until the verdict of the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan comes.
