ISLAMABAD: Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan has written in his detailed verdict that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif had made tall claims about facing accountability but those claims proved hollow.
In his verdict, Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan wrote that despite 26 hearings it couldn’t be determined who was the owner of Mayfair flats. He wrote that Nawaz Sharif’s ownership of the flats through his sons couldn’t be ruled out.
Justice Ijaz wrote that Nawaz Sharif and his sons, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, didn’t reject the charges but they didn’t provide the court with the proofs of their innocence either. He added that it was unfortunate that PM and his sons didn’t provide the court with satisfactory answers.
He added that PM must provide the proof of his ownership and the money trail as well while Hussain Nawaz will also have to declare the sources with which he set up mills in Saudi Arabia.
