ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has granted time to Attorney General to take direction from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics regarding the case seeking allocation of separate column for disabled persons in the population census.
Three member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar conducted the hearing on Tuesday.
The petitioner took stance in his petition that in first form of census 2017 the separate column of information regarding special persons were included but excluded in final form.
To this CJ remarked that at this movement the process of census could not be stopped and questioned what was the reason to exclude the column of special persons?
The public prosecutor requested for more time to take direction from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics in this regard.
To this the court while granting more time adjourned the hearing till Thursday.
