LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday decided to make changes in Pakistan team management as former fast bowler Aqib Javed has been offered to become new head coach of the national team after the pathetic performance of the Pakistan Cricket Team in T-20 World Cup.
According to sources, after completing investigation PCB Fact Finding Committee headed by Shakeel Shaikh has given recommendation to take action against those players who gave poor performances alongwith coach, captain and selection committee.
FFC recorded the statements of head coach Wagar Younas, Manager Intkhab Alam, Haroon Rasheed head of the Selection Committee, former captain Muhammad Yousaf, test cricketer Muhammad Amir and Jalaludin during two days.
T20 captain Shahid Afridi recorded his statement on phone and two members of committee Misbah ul haq and Younas Khan did not attend the meeting.
The head coach had expressed concerns over Najam Sethi in his report but committee did not take it serious.
Committee, expressing its concerns over captain Shahid Afridi’s performance, said that he (Afridi) took decisions by his owns that resulted team into problems.
Sources said that matter of team grouping was not mentioned in the report and issue of board official’s interference regarding selection has come out, sources added.
According to sources Haroon Rasheed tried to influence to save his job but Chairman PCB seems not to give him another chance.
After receiving Fact Finding Committee report Chairman PCB would review it and before reaching any conclusion would consult high officials of board.
