ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Petroleum has filed a reply in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on the matter of increase in prices of Petroleum products while High Court has again issued notice to Ministry of Finance and OGRA to submit reply.
A single bench of IHC presided over by Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui on Monday took up for hearing petition filed against hike in prices of petroleum products.
The petroleum ministry has taken plea in its reply prices of petroleum products are usually increased on the basis of international market rates. . The prices of petroleum products in Pakistan are lower than prices in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India. The price of imported petroleum products was Rs 43 per liter whereas the price of petroleum products in Pakistan was Rs 74 per liter. .
Ministry of Petroleum and OGRA sought time for one week to file reply.
Court has again issued the notice, ordering both (Ministry of Petroleum Products and OGRA) to submit their replies within the week. Court has adjourned the hearing of case till Feb.20
