ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has expressed resentment with Sindh police for its poor  investigation and spoiling social worker Perveen Rehman murder case

The court has issued notice to Attorney General (AG) for formation of judicial commission in Perveen Rehman murder case.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Gulzar Ahmad took up the case for hearing Wednesday.

During the course of hearing lawyer Raheel Kamran said the police officers who conducted investigations have spoiled the case.

Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked “ it seems as if Police are trying to cover up its failure.

Police officer told the incident had taken place in 2013.

Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked “ a social worker was killed. As to why the killer has not been a0pprehended.

Police officer told the court all the five accused have been arrested. One among them has pleaded guilty.

Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked “ do the police not know how to conduct investigations. Does police job run on confession of offence now.

Justice Azmat Saeed observed who has pleaded guilty will deny it in the trial court. Police don’t try to get  to the bottom of the case.

Police told the court a departmental proceeding is underway against the police officers who have spoiled the case.

Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked “ where Sindh police officers should be sent to learn how to conduct investigation.

Justice Azmat Saeed remarked “ it is high profile case. How the negligence has been committed therein. As k from the officers who have spoiled this case that they have done so on whose behest.

The court directed Advocate General  (AG) Sindh to appear in person before it to inform about the matter and adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
