KARACHI: Enraged residents on Friday captured a school’s security guard for allegedly trying to kidnap a five-year-old girl in Karachi’s Ibrahim Hyderi area.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwer, guard Eiddu harassed minor girl on Thursday which she complained with parents, who tortured the guard on early morning.
In revenge, the guard allegedly tried to abduct the girl after off time when locals caught him and called on police. Afterwards, they also vandalized the school property for giving inappropriate security arrangements.
Getting information about the mishap, heavy contingent of Rangers arrived at the scene and arrested the guard. An investigation into the matter has been launched.
Former president Asif Ali Zardari taking notice of the incident directed CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah to investigate the matter and bring the culprits before the justice.
The incident took place two days after seven-year-old Zainab’s body was recovered from heap of garbage in Kasur. The girl was strangled to death after being raped, medical report confirmed.
Zainab’s murder sent shock waves across the country as enraged locals carried out protests, demanding to hang the culprit in public whereas many politicians, activists condemned the death of the young girl and urged to bring the culprits to justice.
