ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has recorded statements of more 3 witnesses in NAB references against Sharif family.

Following the completion of cross examination of the witnesses, the court has issued summon notices to more 6 witnesses and adjourned the hearing of the case till January, 9.

Judge Muhammad Bashir Khan of AC took up for hearing NAB references against Sharif family Wednesday.

Prosecution witness, Inland revenue officer Muhammad Taslim while recording his statement told the court that he went to NAB office under the directives of commissioner inland revenue Fizza Batool and he appeared before NAB Rawalpindi.  Jahangir Ahmad was also present in NAB Rawalpindi on August 21. Wealth tax  record of Nawaz Sharif, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz was filed. Jahangir Ahmad provided income tax record to investigation officer.

Khawaja Haris counsel for Nawaz Sharif while cross examining the witness said if the record was verified before him.

The witness told Fizza Batool did not verify the record before him. Fizza Batool is still working as commissioner inland revenue.

Witness Taslim shook hands with Nawaz Sharif following  completion of his statement .

The second witness Zawar Manzoor while recording his statement said clerk Muhammad Rashid filed documents containing 11 pages. A 4-page London Queen Bench order was also filed. The investigation officer took the record into his custody in my presence. I as a witness signed the record. I appeared before investigation officer on September 6, 2017. I don’t remember affidavit given by Manzoor Raza Bangash was real or otherwise. Statement of Muhammad Rashid was recorded in my presence. Statement of Sidra Mansoor was recorded in my presence. Sidra filed original and certified record.

Defence counsel Khawaja Haris and Amjid Pervez counsel for Maryam Nawaz also cross questioned witness Zawar Manzoor.

The court while summoning more 6 witnesses including Umar Daraz, Taslim, Zubair, Reehan and Sidra Mansoor has adjourned the hearing of the case till January 9.
