ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) have demanded calling of the joint session of parliament to discuss the United States (US) President Donald Trump latest threats to Pakistan.

US President stated in his tweet stated; “The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help.

PTI parliamentary leader Mohammad Azam Khan Swati made it clear to US that Pakistan was not Iraq or Syria and it should avoid given threats to Pakistan. He said that 200 million people of Pakistan were fully united and standing on one platform.

He demanded that joint session of the parliament should be called early so that a combine strategy would be formulated in this regard.

Opposition leader in National Assembly (NA), Syed Khursheed Shah has also suggested the government to summon joint parliamentary session to discuss impasse created after American President Donald J Trump’s statement about the country.

Talking to media here on Tuesday outside National Assembly, Shah said that it’s a problem of Pakistan not of a party or person adding he suggested every politician to not politicize the issue concerning Pakistan.

“Keeping politics aside, we should give a message that we are united,” he urged.
Opposition leader termed US President’s behaviour as “extensively regrettable” and said that reality is contrary to allegations levelled against Pakistan as the country has paid heavy price for becoming American ally in Afghan wars.   

“Compensation of our loss is not possible,” said Khursheed Shah.

He reminded that from 1979 till today, Pakistan can’t come out of America’s war and provided them (Americans) every facility. We had subjected of “Do More” after 9/11.

Syed Khursheed Shah criticized the government over anti Pakistan statements by American President saying that it’s a failure for incumbent government as it could not appoint Foreign Minister during the last four years.

“Trump showed inferiority by mentioning 33 billion dollars so Pakistan has to review its policy of relations with United States now as it’s the only solution of this issue,” PPP leader said.

“We have to respond the American behavior jointly,” Khursheed Shah said.

Responding a query, he said that courts should be locked if NRO is taking place in Saudi Arabia.

Replying another question, he challenged Imran Khan to bring proofs against him and reopen cases against him if some were there.
