ISLAMABAD: The security of Federal Capital has declared high alert on the eve of Christmas that was being celebrated today Monday.Talking to “Online” SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiyani said that prayer ceremonies would be held in almost 130 churches of the city.

“Due to current wave of terrorism in the country, the government has decided to tightened the security of churches and in this regard approximately 1500 police, rangers and FC personnel have been deployed in churches”, he added.

Kiyani added that SSPs of four zones, Sub Divisional Police Officers SDPOs and Station House Officers (SHOs) would monitor the security of churches. To make the fool proof security arrangements of churches, he said that walk through gates have been installed at the entry points of churches.He said that Christmas ceremonies would be held at 103 places of the city. Security personnel have been deployed on roofs, inside and outside of major churches of the city to avert any untoward incident.
