Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Monday, the minister said that people have to decide whether to elect the extremists or those who are fighting against them.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said Pak-Iran gas pipeline agreement is in the interest of the country. He said they will continue to take decisions in the interest of the country in future also. Commenting on upcoming elections, he said that general elections will be held on time and will not be postponed.
Meanwhile‚ addressing the oath-taking ceremony of Desk Editors Forum in Lahore‚ the Information Minister said PPP led government believes in freedom of press.
He said a Journalist Victims' Fund will be activated this year to facilitate the community. He said work on 8th Wage Board Award for journalists will be completed soon.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said‚ if Pakistan Peoples Party came to power again‚ it will take more steps for rights of journalists.
