LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan blamed the federal government for providing “safe haven” to terrorists responsible for the rising sectarian violence in the country.
Imran, speaking to the media on Monday, vowed that his party will eradicate terrorism when it comes into power. “These people are destroying our country.”
“The federal government is responsible. [President] Asif Zardari does not have the time to see what is happening in the country. The provincial [Punjab] government only wants to win elections so they can build a new sugar mill,” Imran added.
“In five years, nothing has improved, except their bank accounts.”
He also accused both the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan People’s Party of making seat adjustment with terrorist organizations.
Imran Khan also accused the Punjab government of pre-poll rigging
He said regularization of 100,000 contractual employees as well as Metro Bus System and distribution of laptops were part of pre-poll rigging.
Maintaining that there can be no future of the country if terrorism is not controlled, Imran said, “The people of Karachi should not vote for parties with militant, terrorist wings.”
He said if voted to power‚ his party will eliminate sectarianism from the country. He claimed both the ruling parties have links with terrorists and provide them protection.
He said that he would curb menace of terrorism through using police and would not call in army.
He said people cannot be fooled in Punjab through what he called "Jangla Bus Service."
Imran Khan also said some foreign powers are engaged in destroying peace in Pakistan and if his party wins the election‚ foreign funding and interference will be stopped.
The PTI chief said the PML-N graph was going upward due to PPP.
