No change in Pakistan’s Kashmir stance: FO

ISLAMABAD: Responding to some media reports quoting the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Shah Gilani, regarding Pakistan stance on Kashmir, the Foreign Office Spokesman said there is no change in Pakistan’s principled position on Kashmir.

He said Pakistan seeks a just solution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and aspirations of the people of Kashmir. This issue cannot be sidestepped and has been duly emphasized in all bilateral talks with India including the talks held recently at the Foreign Ministers levels in Islamabad, he added. He also said that Pakistan holds Gilani in high esteem and greatly values his contributions to the Kashmir cause.
