SHC takes notice of pillion riding arrests in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Mushir Alam on Sunday took notice of the arrests of pillion riders on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, in Karachi and directed the authorities to release all the detained persons before night.
The CJ also directed the magistrates to visit the police stations to monitor the situation. Justice Alam directed the police to release the pillion riders on easy terms and condition.

On Saturday, the Sindh government, keeping in view worsening law and order situation in the city, once again imposed a ban on pillion riding of motorcycle for three days.
According to the notification, old citizens, women, children and journalists would be exempted from the ban.
