Kamra attack: High-level probe team begins work

ATTOCK: A high-level inquiry committee formed to probe the terrorists’ assault on Kamra’s Minhas Air Base, has commenced functioning and is currently taking stock of numerous aspects in connection with the logistic support and terrorist links.

The night between Wednesday and Thursday witnessed some saboteurs attacking the PAF’s Minhas Air Base in Kamra from its rear end of village Makhan Suleman.

The probe committee led by Air Marshal Sohail Gul is pondering on the point as to who provided logistic support to the terrorists and whether the attackers stayed in village Makhan Suleman or just employed it as a safe passage.

The process to identify the terrorists killed in the commando operation, is currently afoot and their contacts are being explored.

Following the brazen attack, the security has been beefed up at all defence installations across the country especially the PAF’s airbases and other security security setups.

All nine attackers were killed in the prompt retaliatory operation in assault on August 16. Meantime, two soldiers lost their lives in the action.
