Electricity shortfall crosses 4,000 megawatts

LAHORE: The electricity shortfall has crossed the figure of 4000 megawatts while in Lahore, the citizens are facing unscheduled power outages.
According to spokesperson of Energy-management cell the production of electricity is 14,186 megawatt while the demand is 18,192 megawatt.

The city is going through electricity load shedding after every one hour to amplify the effects of scorching summers.
The situation is worse in rural areas and small towns of Punjab where the observers of fast are suffering 16 to 20 hours long power cut-offs.
Officials of Lahore Electric Supply Company hold the stance that transformers in certain areas trip due to which production of electricity is affected.
