Hurriyet leaders placed under house arrest

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the authorities placed Hurriyet leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Farooq Ahmad Dar under house arrest, Friday.
Tction was taken to prevent these leaders from leading demonstrations and addressing public gatherings. Syed Ali Gilani had to visit Shopian to express solidarity with the family of the deceased Kashmiri youth. He was also scheduled to lead a demonstration in the area.

The Indian police took Zafar Akbar Butt along with another Hurriyet leader into custody when they were on their way to Tral for addressing a public gathering.
