Kashmir resolution will prove key to regional peace: Mirwaiz

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the resolution of Kashmir dispute will prove a key to the peace in South Asia and urged India to demonstrate sincerity for its settlement.Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a gathering in Safa Kadal area of Srinagar on Sunday he urged India to demonstrate seriousness and settle the dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people. He said that permanent peace in the region was impossible without the amicable resolution of the conflict.
The APHC Chairman also demanded withdrawal of Indian troops and repeal of draconian laws including Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA) from the territory. He said that on one side the puppet Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir was talking about repeal of the black laws while on the other the innocent people of the territory were being killed under such draconian laws. He added that talks and parleys could not go side by side.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also appealed the international community to put pressure on India to stop the worst kind of human rights violations in the territory and come forward to settle the dispute over Kashmir so that permanent peace could be established in the region.
