Punjab government Wednesday night released 24 doctors from jail and Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah announced that YDA had ended the strike after successful talks between Chief Minister Shahbaz and senior doctors.
The YDA said Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah was distorting the facts and misinforming the public, adding doctors had only announced that they would perform their duties in emergency wards for sake of the patients.
After claiming that strike had been called off Wednesday night, the Punjab government Thursday dismissed 25 female doctors of Mayo and Jinnah Hospital.
Though doctors of Army Medical Corps are performing the duties in civil hospital, the situation in hospitals is far from satisfactory, as number of patients is too large to be handled by army doctors.
Operations of patients are being postponed as there are no doctors available for anesthesia.
Relatives of the patients say they have no money for taking their patients to private hospitals. Meanwhile, Punjab government has released four doctors who were arrested on charges of murder.
