Islamabad: Despite cut in prices of petroleum products and CNG, the commuters of twin cities have been forced to pay the newly hiked fares according to the new fare list issued by authorites.

According to new rates, the transporters increased fares from 5 to 7 rupees stop by stop for local route No 127, route no 110, route no 120, route no 103, route no 1, route no 21. The stop by stop fare was Rs 12 previously, which has been increased upto Rs 19.

The commuters complained that public transport in the twin cities is the worst in the country demanding that a decent transport facility should be immediately launched in order to give some relief to travelers.

The commuters demanded of the concerned authorites to take notice of the situation and to issue directive in this regard.

The residents of twin cities have warned the concerned authorities of violent protests if the new fare list was not canceled.
