2 including KESC officer shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI: The city is still hankering for restoration of peace as two more people including Deputy General Manager Karachi Electric Supply Corporation’s (KESC) were killed Tuesday morning, pushing the overall death toll to nine during last 24 hours officials said Unidentified men gunned down KESC Deputy General Manager in North Nazimabad area of Karachi city, police said on Tuesday.

According to police, deputy manager of the KESC Ali Imran Jafferi was killed as the gunmen started firing on his car.

Police reached at the scene soon after his killing and started investigation. Jafferi’s body has been sent for post mortem. The police said that incident took place near Saifi College when the armed men riding motorcycle opened fire on Ali Imran Jaffri’s vehicle.

The attackers were managed to flee from the scene after the incident.

Meanwhile, KESC spokesperson has strongly condemned the killing of Ali Imran and said that the deceased used to carry out operational work of KESC. The spokesperson demanded of the government to investigate the incident and bring the killers to justice.

In another incident a man was killed in Surjani Town early Tuesday morning.

According to police sources, the man was going to a shop to buy something for breakfast for his family when miscreants riding motorcycles opened gunfire at him, causing his instant death in Surjani Town area of Sector L-1.

The tension prevails over the entire area, where police has been called.
