Installation of Illegal gas connection on rise in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: With the connivance of Sui Gas department, Sui Gas is being supplied illegally to thousands of houses in the suburbs of federal capital.
According to sources, the Gas department has not installed Sui gas meters in the areas while the gas pipe lines were laid in the areas without getting any formal approval of maps. The department issued demand notices of the gas meters to consumers after getting bribe from them.

Meanwhile, around 100 illegal gas connections without installing gas meter were given in Bilal town while the department is receiving bribe of Rs 800 per house.
On the other side people who have submitted demand notice are forced to pay bribe to the department for the installation of gas meter.
The illegal connections are provided to these areas Sohan, Pandorian Zia Masjid New Shakrial, Khanna Pull and several street of Burma Town.
