Karachi unrest: 8 more fall prey to violence

KARACHI: At least eight more people were gunned down in different areas of the city overnight, officials said on Sunday.
According to police, extortion and target killing group leader Liaqat Bangish gave up his life by jumping from fourth storey of a building in Rabia City, Gulistan-e-Jauhar area when police and Rangers surrounded him to capture.

Tension prevails in several parts of the city as violence continues without being controlled.
A man was shot dead near Chandni Chowk, Saeedabad while another was killed in Kharadar.
Three limb-tied dead bodies were recovered from Nagori Society near Super Highway. They were kidnapped before being shot dead.
Two more limb-tied bodies were also recovered from Lyari. They were identified as Asif and Ayub. Both are said to be MQM activists.
Three people were reported injured in Frontier Colony, Baldia Town and Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas of the city. 35-year-old woman Rubina was killed by her husband in Khokhrapar, Malir.
