Fire in forests poses threats to health, wildlife and environment

ISLAMABAD: For several days, fire has been erupting in forests of Margalla Hills, Chhattar, Bani Gala and Bhara Kahu areas, which is posing serious threat to health, wildlife and environment.
The fire that started in forests of the Margalla Hills and others areas have engulfed large area and the locals were busy in extinguishing the fire.

During the summers most of the fire incidents have been occurred on the Margalla Hills. The authorities are of the view that they are pursuing a comprehensive strategy to fight hill fires. They stated fire broke out due to scorching heat.
Unfortunately, fire at the Margalla Hills has become an annual feature, which occurs in summer season. It not only mars the natural beauty, but also harms the wildlife.
Residents have demanded of the concerned authorities to ascertain the reasons behind the fire eruption incidents and save the health of people, wildlife and natural beauty.
