FGEHF becomes hub of corruption , swindlers begins to thug allottess

ISLAMABAD: The allottees of plots, being granted to low paid federal government employees by their departments facing unbearable burden of fines imposed by the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF).

The foundation has collecting heavy amounts in terms of fines besides the required installments, whereas the amount of fine is more than the actual installments, Online has learnt. The plot owners of minimum category have been asked to pay an extra amount of Rs. 1,23,000 due to minor delay in the actual amount of installment, which was Rs 55,000.

It is important to note that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) not yet vacated the land from possession of the local communities neither the development of the allotted sectors has been started.

A plot owner, who was an employee of the Ministry of Labor Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis, told this scribe the actual amount of the plot, which he was granted during the Musharraf’s government is Rs. 2,15,000. He said that he was unable to deposit one installment as he got Tuberculosis (TB) and admitted in hospital.

“I have submitted the delayed installment and I have all medical record with me, but the foundation is demanding heavy fine (more than 100,000) which is beyond my reach, “the allottee added.

He added that in this way the foundation supporting the property dealer mafia by putting an extra burden on hand to mouth segment of the society. He said that the incumbent government has the slogan of “Roti, Kapra or Makaan” but the so called property dealers illegally wandering in building of the foundation spread its net for catching poor allottees to snatch only piece of land with them.

“The foundation has using unfair tactics and making ground for the dealer mafia as the allottees already paying actual amount of the plots after facing many hardships, “he added. He expressed that a number of poorer allottees sold their plots on throw-away-prices to the dealer mafia as they were unable to deposit fines and extra amounts asked by the foundation.

Meanwhile, the allotteess demanded the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, President Asif Ali Zardari and Minister for FGEHF Faisal Saleh Hayat to reduce the extra weight from poor allotteess. They also stressed the authorities concerned to break the chain between the foundation’s employees and dealer mafia.
