RCB postpones auction of plaza at former Rex Cinema

RAWALPINDI: The auction of site of former Rex Cinema at Westridge remained fruitless after uphill struggle of three days by the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.
The RCB had to auction 38 shops initially, but the staff of RCB has to wait for the contestants to participate in auction by putting banner at the site, then the RCB decided to postpone the auction because the number of contestants was below par.

The RCB had decided to construct a commercial plaza on the site of former Rex Cinema at Westridge.
While the RCB has to build the building of the plaza as it had launched similar projects to construct commercial plaza at Gowalmandi and earned money through auction of the shops and flats.
Additional Cantonment Executive Officer Shakeel Anwar said they would construct plaza at the site of Rex Cinema, while new date for the auction will be advertised through newspapers.
