A man was shot dead in Golimar area while some unidentified person shot dead an activist of a political party in PIB Colony, police said.
According to police, 28-year-old Sohail Hussain, an activist of a political party, was busy in wall chalking in PIB Colony when some unidentified persons opened fire and injured him. He was rushed to to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, some unknown people set a jeep and a rickshaw on fire in PIB Colony.
On the other hand, victim of firing in Arambagh five days ago also died while a man was injured in firing in Purani Sabzi Mandi area.
Moreover, police during a search operation arrested 29 people accused of drug selling, extortion and other crimes and recovered a Kalashnikov, two TT pistols and drugs from their possession.
According to police, the accused were members of Razzaq Commando and Saeed Kajaln gangs.
