Dr Shakeel Afridi had informed Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) about the presence of al Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad.
The sources said that intelligence agencies had warned the government that Dr Afridi imprisonment in Peshawar jail was dangerous with regard to security concerns. So the agencies asked for him to be shifted to a safe and secure location, the sources added.
Following the security concerns, security has been beefed up in and outside of the Peshawar Central Jail while security barriers have been installed on the road leading toward the jail from the Governor house and Malik Saad flyover.
Meanwhile, the jail administration denied the media reports regarding the possible shifting of the accused Dr to Attock jail when contacted by the media, they said that the security arrangements in the surrounding of the jail were part of daily routine.
