8 dead as jeep falls into river Neelum near Muzaffarabad

MUZAFFARABAD: At least eight people were killed when a passenger jeep veered off the road and fell into the River Neelum near Muzaffarabad on Thursday, officials said.
The vehicle was coming to Muzaffarabad from Neelum valley when the accident took place at about 9:30am, a police officer told the media.

All the ten people on board the vehicle were dead in the tragedy as police and rescue teams recovered eight bodies from the river.
"It was not known how the driver lost control over the vehicle which veered off the road and hit the rocky riverbank over 300 feet down," he said, adding the police were investigating the cause of the accident.
