SC orders to present 3 missing persons till May 14

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has expressed annoyance over the absence of Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan despite being summoned by the court.

A three-member Supreme Court (SC) bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the proceedings of missing persons in Balochistan  At the absence of IG FC, the Chief Justice expressed anger and remarked why the IG FC has not appeared before the SC. The Chief Justice further said that if IG FC does not want to appear in the court, he should at least present the three missing persons before the bench.

He said Balochistan issue has become immense serious and government is not focusing over the matter adding that federal government should know the consequences of the Balochistan unrest otherwise current situation will lead to a massive crisis in the province.

Deputy Inspector General Operations Balochistan Police Hamid Shakeel informed the court that CCTV video of a private hotel shows the FC vehicle picking up the missing persons. The court also ordered to present the video.

The Chief Justice remarked who has given rights to FC to pick persons from their houses adding that evidences are at hand against the FC and it would be very disgrace for the department.

During proceedings, authorities of FC assured the SC that missing persons will be presented before the court. The Chief Justice remarked that the bench will pass an order in case IG FC failed to appear.

The Supreme Court ordered that three missing persons be presented before the court during its next proceedings and adjourned the hearing till May 14.
