Punjab for further delay in LGs polls

LAHORE: The Punjab government has once against prayed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan for allowing further time for holding the Local Governments elections.
It has said elections will be possible only after new voters’ list and fresh demarcation of constituencies.

A private TV channel claimed that the Punjab government has made this pray in the light of the need for fresh demarcation of constituencies. The government was of the view that holding of elections was not possible before the preparation of new voters’ lists and fresh demarcation of constituencies.
It also said time was requires for needful legislation in this regard.
