Gilani still constitutional PM: Naek

ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minster, Senator Farooq H. Naek Thursday said that Yousaf Raza Gilani is still the prime minister of this country and the decision of his disqualification lies with Speaker National assembly and the Election Commission.
Talking on a point of order in the Senate in response to the objection of Senator Zafar Ali Shah, the law minister said Yousaf Raza Gilani is still constitutionally the premier of this country and the decision of his disqualification lies with Speaker NA and if she fails to make the decision than the matter would be referred to Election Commission of Pakistan.

Talking on a point of order in the Senate in response to the objection of Senator Zafar Ali Shah, the law minister said Yousaf Raza Gilani is still constitutionally the premier of this country and the decision of his disqualification lies with Speaker NA and if she fails to make the decision than the matter would be referred to Election Commission of Pakistan.
He said that the incumbent government would not allow any political gimmickry to cash the issue.
Senator Zafar Ali Shah had raised the point that the Apex court has sought the implementation of its verdict in the PM contempt of court case as it has sent details judgment to all relevant departments, including the Speaker National assembly, Chairman ECP and Chairman Senate.
He said that copy of the judgment was also sent to the President of Pakistan and principal secretary of the PM.
He said that we would not participate in the Senate proceeding as the PM and his cabinet remained ineffective after the conviction of the PM.
