Pakistan contacts WB for funds to initiate Hydro Electric Projects ISLAMABAD: The government has contacted World Bank (WB) to initiate Hydro Power Electric worth $10 billion funding trade for next 10 to 15 years. Sources told Online Wednesday that the government had decided to initiate annual $2 billion investment plan keeping in view the fast-growing national economy. In this connection, the government has extended application of $10 billion in a bid to initiate Hydro Electric Projects in the country. However, sources expressed pessimism that it would be a great challenge for WB to ensure release of such large amount. Sources while quoting government officials said that the donors were satisfied of Pakistan fast-paced economic growth and would ensure the provision of required funds. |
