Karachi blast tragedy is govt’s failure: PPP

ISLAMABAD: Leadership of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its Azad Kashmir chapter condemned Karachi blast tragedy and said that the shocking incident is the proof of present government’s failure.

Leaders of People’s Party Pakistan and Azad Kashmir chapter were addressing Workers Convention organized by President People’s Party, Islamabad Asghar Gujar here on Thursday.

President PPP, Azad Kashmir Sahibzada Ishaq Zaffar and President PPP, Azad Kashmir (Punjab chapter) Akram Shah were the chief guests in the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Member National Assembly Syed Nayyar Bukhari said that happening of blast tragedy in Nishtar Park, Karachi is the proof of government’s failure and PPP condemns it.

He said incumbent government is not able to run country’s affairs, therefore the national leaders who are in exile should be allowed to return to Pakistan.

Bukhari said transparent elections should be held in Azad Kashmir because the polls in AJK are the test-case for Pakistan government.

Government should provide transparent machinery for holding neutral and fair elections in Azad Kashmir, he added.

He noted that present government wanted to create rift in PPP but Party’s activists would thwart these moves.

President PPP, Azad Kashmir Ishaq Zaffar said masses have complete trust on leadership of Benazir Bhutto and they want change.

He urged people to reject those who deceived PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

Ishaq observed that Chaudhry brothers would cause repentance for President Musharraf.

Addressing the Workers Convention, Akram Shah said PPP is masses party and it will hold country’s reins in future.

He said that after coming in power, PPP would take steps to get masses rights.

President PPP women section Shahzad Kusar Gilani said she would always remain loyal to the Party.

Central Coordinating Secretary PPP, AJK Ashraf Janjua said that the PPP workers should remain unite, as the next election would prove blessing for people.

Asghar Gujar said that PPP would win elections and make it clear to dictators that it would neither ’sell out’ nor ’bow’.
