Online health facilities, need of the hour: Zubaida Jalal

ISLAMABAD: "Online health facilities is the dire need of the hour, and time has come when information vis-à-vis health related issues must be computerized so that people could get easy access to the information regarding sub-standard food, diseases spread through contaminated water, etc and the means as how to over come these health hazards and learn about their remedies, said Zubaida Jalal, Federal Minister for Social Welfare and Special Education.

Addressing the concluding session of the first Health Informating Working Conference organized by the COMSATS in Islamabad, here on Saturday she stressed upon the importance of the information technology and said that it was the need of the hour to spread out the network of the use of information technology and computers in all the district and basic health units throughout the country.

She further said that Ministry of Health and its related institution and all the Federal and the Provincial Hospitals must be linked through the computer for easy assess to the online health facilities.

"Doctors, nurses and paramedical staff must be trained with the use of Computer and information technology so as to meet the demands of the modern health facilities.
