Pak on right track due to investor friendly policies: Shaukat

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that economy of Pakistan has paced on right track due to ideal policies and business-oriented environment provided by the government for the last six years.

"Many opportunities for the investment in different sectors have been created due to robust economic growth due to reforms introduced by government and the link between private sectors of Pakistan and Turkey can result in enhancement of trade activities on both sides," prime Minster said while talking to a delegation of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce that called on him here on Monday.

"The feelings of love and brotherhood between the two countries should be converted into trade and investment," prime minister said.

The premier said that the informs introduced by government during the last six years had resulted in significant results and the economy had been stabilized. "Markets are growing, the pre-capita income has increased and the emergence of a flourishing middle class has given boost to trade and industry," prime minister added.

He said that consistency and continuity of government policies had given confidence to investors and they were availing the opportunities for the investment in the country. "Last year, Pakistan had the second highest growth rate in Asia and investment is all time high," he added.

Prime Minster said that Pakistan is a globalized economy in thinking and approach as economy was opened up and the private sector is encouraged t grow through a competitive approach that was bringing efficiency and innovation in many industries.

Prime Minster said that Pakistan was moving up the value-added chain and engineering and automobile industry were among the focus areas.

He said that several new tractors plants were being established and Pakistan had great potential for investment in tourism, construction and real estate sectors.

Dr. Resul Izmiril the leader of the delegation expressed sympathy for the loss of earthquake and said that Turkish businessmen were impressed by the business friendly environment provided by government of Pakistan.
