Widespread rain predicted in earthquake affected areas today ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological department has warned that cold harsh winter is likely to onset from today (Thursday) in earthquake affected area as a strong westerly wave has almost approached the northern parts of Pakistan expected to prevail till weekend. Due to this weather system widespread rain, thunderstorm with snow over high mountains above 8,000 ft predicted in all earthquake affected areas including Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Chikpthi, Abbotabad, Balakot, Mansehra, Batgram, Kohistan, Shangla, Kaghan, Naran and adjoining areas making the winer further hard over there. The widespread intermittent rain may increase the risk of landslides in those areas. Rain is also expected at scattered places of NWFP, Upper Punjab and Kashmir. |
