PEMRA extends date for submission of EoIs for establishment of FM Radio Stations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has extended the date for submission of Expression of Interest upto November 15 due to the recent earthquake disaster.

The spokesman of the PEMRA told Online that the authority had invited the EoIs from the local companies to issue new FM Radio licences for 47 cities and in this regard the last date for receipt of EoIs was fixed October 15 but due to this national tragedy the authority had extended its date for the submission EoIs.

It may be mentioned that new FM Radio licences would be awarded in smaller towns especially Northern Areas and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) that had remained uncovered.

The authority planned to issue licences for Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Hafizabad, Mianwali, Narowal, Okara, Pakpattan, Khushab, Rajanpur, Thatta, Ghotki, Badin, Noshero Feroz, Tharparkar, Shikarpur, Sanghar, Bolan, Chaghi, Dera Bugti, Jhalmagsi, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Peshawar, Loralai, Mastung, Panjgur, Pishin, Quetta, Sibi, Zhob, Ziarat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakant, Kohistan, Batgram, Manshera, Charsada, Nowshera, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Bunner, Shangla and Swabi.
