Death toll in Shangla district surges to 129

SHANGLA: Death toll of Saturday's earthquake victims in Shangla district surged to 129 persons while more than one hundred fifty were reported injured till last information on Saturday night.

Shangla district is the worst affected area in terms of death toll where out of total 129 victims in District Shangla, 73 persons belonged to Basham.

Relief efforts with the coordination of Pak.Army and local people are under way. Debris of the damaged buildings and houses is being cleared to bring out the dead bodies of the victims.

The injured have been admitted in local hospital for medical treatment.
