Chief of naval staff leave for Malaysia

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Naval staff, Admiral Shahid Karimullah and Begum Nasreen Shahid departed on an official visit to Malaysia Saturday.

Chief and Begum were seen off at Chaklala airport by chief of staff vice admiral Mohammad Haroon, Malaysian Ambassador MD Hashmir Bin Hussain, Defense advisor of Malaysia and other senior naval officers.

The chief of the Naval staff is proceeding to Malaysia in conjunction with the 72nd anniversary of the Malaysian armed forces.

The government of Malaysia will award the chief of the naval staff admiral Shahid Karimullah, the honorary Malaysian armed forces order for valor (first degree), Gallant commander of the Malaysian armed forces.

The award is bestowed upon the chief in recognition of cementing the matters of bilateral and mutual cooperation between the two navies.

Vice admiral Mohammad Haroon chief of staff would be acting chief of the naval staff in his absence.
