Kasuri discusses multi-faceted issues with Malta leaderships VALLETTA: Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri Tuesday met with the President of Malta Dr. Fenech Adami in his presidential palace and discussed issues of bilateral, regional and international interests with him. While speaking about the close and cordial relations between the two countries, Mr. Fenech Adami commended the crucial role played by Pakistan National Airline (PIA) in the establishment of Air Malta. The President stressed the need for further strengthening of bilateral relations covering various areas including trade and economic ties. The Foreign Minister apprised the Malata president about the key role being played by Pakistan in the promotion of peace and stability in the region, with the special reference to the role that Pakistan was playing in the coalition against international terrorism. Kasuri apprised about the ongoing peace process going between India and Pakistan being perused through composite dialogue. The foreign minister also extended invitation of Pakistan’s visit to Malta president on behalf of President General Pervez Musharraf. The official round of talks between Mahmood Kasuri and Malta foreign minister Dr. Micheal Frendo, covered the whole range of bilateral, regional and international issue of their interests. They also exchange views on the forth coming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meting (CHOGM), which the Malta would host in the November 2005. Kasuri also apprised his counterpart about the progressed achieved in the composite dialogue with India aimed at addressing all outstanding issues including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir. He also told him that peaceful and stable Afghanistan is in the national interest of Pakistan. While agreeing on the pursuing a pro-active approach for further enhancement of bilateral relations between both the countries. |
