Mohmand Agency likely to face SWA like operation MOHMAND AGENCY: Law enforcement agencies have geared up its activities to launch a fresh operation against the supporters of Taliban and Al-Qaeda network in the tribal areas while the tribesmen have expressed reservations about the expected operation, it is reliably learnt. After South Wazirastan Agency (SWA) operation some weeks ago, law enforcement agencies are brainstorming to launch a fresh operation against the banned Taliban in Mohmand Agency as well because the agencies has intensified their activities of information gathering. Some military helicopters are also seen hovering on the headquarter of tribal agency, Ghulnei. The local tribesmen expressed the fear that the recent advancements in check posts of Pak army hinted that military was going to launch a big operation against the supporters of Taliban in Mohmand agency. Meanwhile, the elders of Mohmand tribe seeking anonymity said that there is no sign of Taliban or Al-Qaeda remnant in the area and "if law enforcement agencies launched operation without being taken into confidence the locals, they would withdraw their cooperation to political administration and Pakistan army." |
