Sheikh Rashid says Punjab Govt responsible for attack on him

RAWALPINDI: Quaid Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid has said that Punjab Government was responsible for attack on him as he had requested the Punjab Government for provision of security.

Talking to a private TV channel here on Monday after getting injured in the attack, he said that he was safe now. He said that he saved himself by barging into the office, adding, he said that he had sent a written application to the CCPO Rawalpindi Rao Muhammad Iqbal to provide security as his life was in danger but he did not take it seriously.

The Quaid AML said that the deceased were his friends but not the Guards. He said that he would win the elections while his opponents tried to remove him from the scene. He said that he would participate in the elections even he had to stamp with his blood on the ballot paper.

He said that Punjab Government has not provided him security while he had sent the applications to Chief Secretary and Home Secretary Punjab. He said that he would continue to represent the people of Rawalpindi till the end of his life.

On the other hand the hospital management has issued the X-Ray report according to which he has no fracture. According to private TV channel after the attack on Sheikh Rashid he was admitted in DHQ Hospital Rawalpindi.

Sheikh Rashid has appealed his workers to stay calm and do not chant slogans against any party.
