Pakistani delegation to visit Dubai today for talks with IMF

ISLAMABAD: The team of IMF (International Monetary Fund) has refused to come to Pakistan due to law and order situation here.

As a result the high -level Pakistani delegation, of ministry of Finance headed by Secretary Finance Salman Siddiqui would be leaving today, Tuesday, for Dubai to hold talks with IMF for the fifth tranche of loans.

The delegation would comprise of high-ranking officials of Finance ministry, State Bank, Planning Commission, and FBR.

During their talks with the IMF. Issues regarding tax revenues, tax reforms, petroleum and energy tariffs, monetary policies, and trade deficit would be deliberated.

In case the talks are successful, IMF would disburse the fifth tranche of U$1.2 billion, while the economy of Pakistan would also be discussed.

Meanwhile the delegation would also brief IMF about steps, the government of Pakistan was taking for betterment of Country’s economy.
