Iran launches production lines of unmanned aircrafts

TEHRAN: Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi on Monday launched production lines of unmanned aircraft, or drones.

The planes will be able to carry out surveillance, as well as attack tasks with high precision, Vahidi told reporters on the sidelines of the launching ceremony held earlier today.

"The one-seater and double-engine plane ’Faez’ (Winner) has the ability to cover a radius of 1,500 kilometers in three hours, with a total speed that surpasses 250 kilometers per hour, not to mention its maneuvering abilities," Vahidi described the plane.

The other two planes; Raad (Thunder) and Natheer (Warning), are unmanned surveillance aircrafts, with highly-precise targeting abilities, the minister pointed out.

Also during the ceremony, the locally-made Fajer (Dawn-3) four-seater aircraft was launched. It accommodates four people and can reach 320 kilometers per hour in full speed.
