Protest demo to be held tomorrow in Virginia against drone attacks in Pakistan TEXAS: A Protest demonstration under the aegis of Cindy Sheehan, a world-renowned American anti-war/Peace activist and Nobel peace Prize nominee, would be hold tomorrow (Saturday) at CIA head quarter Virginia against immoral and illegal US drone strikes in Pakistan’s tribal areas. Cynthia McKinney, former six-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives and Former Green Party candidate for President of the United States, Ann Wright retired United States Army colonel and retired official of the U.S. State Department, known for her outspoken opposition to the Iraq War, Kathy Kelly American Peace activist, Pacifist and author, a three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, one of the founding members of Voices in the Wilderness, and currently a co-coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence, Debra Sweet Brooklyn-based Director of World Can’t Wait, Bruce Gagnon coordinator of the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space, Hadi Jawad Pakistani-American and Co-Founder of Crawford Peace House and Joshua Smith anti-war/Peace activist, analyst and coordinator and David Rovics musician would lead the demonstration. Hadi Jawad Pakistani-American and Co-Founder of Crawford Peace House said that we had supported Barrack Obama in the Presidential elections so that he could bring Peace in the world but now it seems that his Policies are akin to Policies, which was adopted by Former US President George B. Bush. Over 700 innocent people of have been killed so far in 45 US drone strikes in Pakistan’s tribal areas, he said, adding that, only 5 members of Al-Qaeda have also their lives in these attacks. He appealed to people belong to very walk of life to participate in demonstration against drone strikes in Pakistan’s tribal areas by considering it their moral obligation. The leader of Democratic Party Aftab Siddique said that American Pakistanis should take part in the Protest demonstration to record their anger against the drone strikes. |
