Both PML-N, PPP violated CoD: Rashid LAHORE : Chairman Awami Muslim League (AML), Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that both Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party violated the Charter of Democracy (CoD). Talking to media here in front of Lahore High Court (LHC), Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that PML-N did not challenge Kerry-Lugar Act with the same vengeance as they opposed NRO. "Had Mian Nawaz Sharif opposed K-L Act like NRO, the bill could not have been approved", added by Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. Criticizing the Punjab Government, the veteran politician said that the provincial government does not want by-elections on two seats of National Assembly before 2010. Responding to a question, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that Punjab Government is humiliating Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), saying the decision of a single bench would send a wrong message. Asked about remarks of former President Pervez Musharraf about President Zardari, Chairman AML said that if he (Musharraf) said this, he should not have said this. On nuclear assets of the country, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that there is no threat to nuclear assets. |
