Wrong to target innocent people in blasts: Afghan Taliban Commander HELMAND/QUETTA : Afghan Taliban Commander Abdul Manan known as Mullah Toor Jan has denied any link between Afghan Taliban and Pakistani Taliban, saying Afghan Taliban are not in Pakistan but are fighting in Afghanistan against occupied troops. Talking to a private TV channel, the Afghan Taliban Commander said that Afghan Taliban are fighting against US and NATO troops as they occupied Afghanistan through force and Taliban would drive them out from their land. Responding to a question regarding suicide attacks in Pakistan, he said: "It is un-Islamic and wrong to target innocent people in blasts and expressed his unawareness about the objectives of Pakistani Taliban. Asked about Taliban Shura in Quetta, he said that Taliban have 80 percent control in Afghanistan and it would not be wise for Taliban to live in Pakistan, saying only 1 percent or less Taliban visiting Pakistan to meet their relatives. In response to a question, the Taliban commander categorically rejected the influence of Al-Qaida on Taliban, saying Taliban wanted Islamic System in the country according to wishes of the people. Talking on coordination among Taliban, he said that advisors of Taliban exist in all over the country and they took decisions after consultation and their decision have to be followed by Taliban. Informing about casualties of coalition troops in Helmand, he said that the enemy lost their 10,000 to 15,000 men while tanks and motors have also been destroyed. |
