President Asif Ali Zardari offers slot of attorney general to Barrister Aitzaz

ISLAMABAD : President Asif Ali Zardari has offered slot of attorney general to barrister Aitzaz Ahsan to forge better working relationship between government and judiciary and presenting government stance in better way in several important cases.

Sources close to presidency told Online Thursday Aitzaz Ahsan met president Asif Ali Zardari at latter’s desire. President during the meeting acknowledged PPP needed the services of senior and experienced leader like him and government was ready to make him part of its team according to his will.

Sources told the slots of advisor to prime minister on law and attorney general were offered to Aitzaz Ahsan. However he had not given any assurance to president Asif Ali Zardari to accept any of the two offices. He had held out only assurance that he would continue to assist government in vital constitutional and legal matters.

Sources said both would continue to hold meetings while strong possibility was there that membership of Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan for central executive committee of PPP would be restored.
