AJK Prime Minister seeks support from federal govt to survive no confidence move

ISLAMABAD: AJK Prime Minister Sardar Yaqoob Khan has sought help from federal government formally to survive no trust move.

AJK Prime Minister Sardar Yaqoob Khan met minister for labor and manpower Syed Khurshid Shah after the no confidence motion was tabled against him in AJK legislative assembly and exchanged views on the latest movement forward in the assembly.

Sources told AJK Prime Minister asked the federal minister that federal government should play its role in this regard.

Sources told federal minister had not held out any clear assurance to AJK Prime Minister so far. Syed Khurshid Shah told AJK prime minister federation wanted democratic set up should continue uninterrupted in AJK. If any change comes in democratic way, federation would support it, Khurshid Shah further said.

No trust move had been tabled by both the factions of Muslim Conference against AJK prime minister and voting in this respect would take place on Thursday.

Earlier AJK PPP had assured AJK Prime Minister of its support. On the other hand Muslim Conference factions had claimed they enjoyed the support of desired number of members and no confidence move would meet success.
